الماضي المستمر – past continuons :

في هذا الدرس سوف نتعرف على كيفية التعامل مع زمن الماضي المستمر . في بادئ الأمر سوف نقـوم بشرح صيغة تكون الماضي المستمر في الحالات الثلاثة وهي : positive و negative و question بشكل جدا مبسط و سهل .

الآن نآتي لشرح أهم النقاط مع الأمثلة التوضيحية لزمن الماضي المستمر .

نستخدم الزمن الماضي المستمر للتحدث عن حدث في متواصل - We use the past continuous to talk about actions in progress

في وقت معين في الماضي – a) at a certain time in the past

Ex: I was driving home at 6:30 this evening

عند أجراء أو أنجاز حدث آخر - b) when another (completed) action happened

Ex: I was driving along when I saw a friend of mine

نحن غالبا نستخدم هذا الزمن لوصف آمر خلفيه قصه معينه – We often use the past continuous to describe the background situation in a story-×

لاجل الاحداث الرئيسية و نحن نستخدم الماضي البسيط - For the main events, we use the past simple

…Ex: The sun was shining and everyone was getting ready for the party that afternoon. Then my phone rang

.Sometimes the other action in the past simple interrupts the action in the past continuous-×

أحيانا نستخدم حدث آخر في الماضي المستمر عند استخدامنا لزمن الماضي البسيط .

.Ex: I was crossing the road when I slipped on some ice

.like say: I stopped crossing the road

.When two actions happen one after the other, we use the past simple for both actions-×

عندما نستخدم حدثين حدث تلوى الآخر . نستخدم الماضي البسيط لكلا الحدثين .

.Ex: When I heard the crash, I ran to the end of the street

!REMEMBER

.we do not use state verbs in the continuous form

.mistake: I was knowing her when we were children

.true: I Knew her when we were children
لا نستخدم أفعال الحالات و المشاعر في زمن الماضي المستمر .

.We use when, while and as to join past continuous and past simple parts of a sentence-×

.Ex: I saw Ali when / while / as I was waiting at the bus stop

الأمثلة – Example

كنت أعمل في مستشفى – I was working in a hospitel

كانت تقود السيارة – She was driving a car

كانت تمطر بالأمس – It was raining yesterday

كنا نلعب معا – We were playing together

ما كانوا يبحثون عنك – They were not looking for you

ألم تكن تكلمني ؟ – Were you not talking to me

هل كانت تكسن هنا من قبل ؟ – Was she staying here then

أين كنت تذهب ؟ – Where were you going
